The Drake Irish Dance School Story
With the arrival of The Drake School of Irish Dance in the fall of 2003, Charleston added a new dimension to instruction in the performing arts.
The Drake School began in 1990 after Karl Drake emigrated to the United States and began teaching in Georgia and Florida. The school has grown to include the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and there is now a location in Mexico City, Mexico.
The Drake School of Irish Dance is one of the strongest schools of Irish Dance in the southeast, counting among its students many Regional and National Dance Champions who compete on the international level.
